Roasted Turnips Recipe

Growing turnips in the garden this year? Maybe you got some in your CSA bag? If you're looking for ideas to cook them, try this roasted turnips recipe. It is pretty easy and tastes delicious!

Ingredients

  • Salt to taste
  • 8 oz Turnips (peeled and cut into smaller slices)
  • 1 Tbsp Butter melted
  • Parmesan Cheese to taste
  • 1/4 Tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 3-4 Sprigs Fresh Thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475 degrees.

  2. Place turnips into a bowl, and add in the olive oil.

  3. Add the melted butter to your bowl.

  4. Sprinkle in salt to taste. Then add the nutmeg to the mixture in the bowl.

  5. Mix well then place the turnips into a greased baking dish.

  6. Sprinkle enough Parmesan cheese to taste, then top turnips with 3-4 fresh sprigs of thyme.

  7. Bake uncovered for about 15-20 minutes. When done the turnips will be slightly brown and fork tender.
