Ingredients

  • 1 Stick Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh Basil packed
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh Parsley packed
  • 5 Stalks Fresh Chives or Green Onions
  • 3 Cloves Fresh Garlic peeled
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt optional
  • 1/2 Tsp Pepper
  • 1/2 Cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese plus a little extra for topping
  • 1 10" Ciabatta loaf or French loaf sliced in half horizontally

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Add all the ingredients except the bread to the bowl of a food processor. Blend until the herbs are completely broken down and the butter is evenly combined. Scrape down the sides as necessary.
  3. Spread a thin layer of the butter on the inside of each Ciabatta half.
  4. Put the loaf back together and tightly wrap it with aluminum foil.
  5. Place the bread on a baking sheet lined with foil and place in the oven.
  6. Cook for 12 minutes and remove from the oven. Turn the heat up to broil.
  7. Carefully unwrap the bread and open it up while still on the pan. Sprinkle with some additional Parmesan cheese and broil until it is lightly browned.

  8. If the ends get brown before the middle, just cover them with foil. Watch it closely when it's broiling as it can burn quickly.
