Low Carb Fried Green Tomatoes With Spicy Dipping Sauce

You don't have to wait til your tomatoes are ripe to enjoy. This healthier low carb fried green tomatoes recipe lets you have a treat and stick to a diet! It is gluten free, low carb and Paleo!

Ingredients

  • 3 large Fresh Green Tomatoes
  • 1/2 Cup Coconut Flour or almond flour
  • 3/4 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 Tsp Onion Powder
  • 4 Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Tbsp Hot Sauce used Frank's Original
  • 2 Tbsp Paleo Mayo

Instructions

  1. Slice the tomatoes to about 1/4 inch thick slices.

  2. In a small bowl beat the eggs until fully blended.

  3. In another bowl mix flour, pepper and onion powder until fully blended.

  4. In a large skillet heat coconut oil on a medium-low heat.

  5. Dip the tomato slices in the eggs and then into the flour mixture making sure they are fully coated.

  6. Place in the heated oil pan and cook a few minutes on each side until golden brown.

  7. After golden brown remove from pan and place on a cooling rack for a few minutes for any extra oil to drip off. 

  8. For the dipping sauce, simply mix the Paleo mayo and hot sauce together until fully blended and serve with your fried green tomatoes!
