Many of us think that after we get married we are ready to start a family and get pregnant. But the fact is, more and more families are having infertility issues. My husband and I are one of those families.

As many women do, growing up I always knew I wanted to have kids. I so wanted that laughter, joy, and brightness that they bring.

Oh yes, I do know that is not all they bring as there is a great deal of worry, tears, sickness, and frustration that comes along with having kids. But I wanted it all and was ready to take it on.

My Story Of Infertility:

My husband and I pretty much started trying to get pregnant just a few short months after being married. I was young (19) and he was in his early 30’s, we did not think much of it after a few months had gone by and nothing.

We figured, it will come, we just have to wait. It was getting close to a year of trying and still nothing, we started to think maybe something is wrong.

This is all going on while having to answer those questions to family and friends…you know the ones. Are you all having kids? When will you have kids? How come you don’t have kids yet? Don’t you want kids?

Yep those, have you heard them? Each time someone would ask, I would just smile and say not yet while feeling this deep hole inside and wanting to say it is not that easy for everyone to get pregnant!

I mean I know they did not mean anything by it, but for someone that is having issues, those questions cut like a knife. But I am sure you know that if you have been trying for a while.

Time To Talk To A Doctor:

Anyways, with almost a year of trying and nothing, we started to look into reasons and what we could do. It was at that time I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

But they said that it was still possible to get pregnant and I may just need some help like supplements and medication.

So we said ok, we will give it a try! Some of the meds made me really sick but I kept taking and we kept trying. After a while with the meds not helping and just making me sick, I came off.

We also started doing research on ways that men can boost fertility. One of the big things we found out there was that men can unknowingly be harming their fertility.

So yes, my husband tried to wear loose shorts and other items to help with this issue.

So we are now a few years into our marriage. After meeting with a few different doctors and also being diagnosed with more health conditions we started to think that it was not going to happen for us.

Thought was given to trying other fertility options, but we choose not to for a few reasons. One, we did not have thousands and thousands of dollars to waste on a “maybe” you might get pregnant.

Two, maybe this is my body telling me I can not and should not give birth to a child as it could be a great danger to myself and or the child. As well as some other reasons.

New Options:

Had there been options like the Stork OTC back then, I know for sure we would have given it a shot! I mean, it is something you can do right in your own home without having to pay for the overpriced doctors.

I mean you could almost buy a dozen of these devices before you would even touch the price of a specialist doctor visit.

It is said to be more effective at delivering sperm to the cervix than natural intercourse. I love the fact that it is not a medication that you put in or on your body. It is more like mother nature but with a little extra boost.

How It Works:

There is a collection cap that goes on much like a condom. Then there is the applicator that you put the cap in and insert much like you would a tampon.

You then leave the cap in place and remove the applicator and go about your day. This allows a higher sperm concentration directly to the cervix. Then after 4-6 hours you remove the cap and toss it in the trash.

Is it a guarantee that it will work? No, but no harm in trying, right? If your path of infertility, sounds anything like mine, this may be for you.
