DIY Sunwall Made By Reusing Shower Curtains
Are you looking for ways to get away from the summer sun and heat? I have a DIY sunwall you should check out. It is so much cheaper than buying a store bought sunwall and it is super easy to do too!
Yes, you can buy premade sunwalls from places like Walmart or even Amazon here. However, they normally will run you $20 or more for a full wall. That is when we came up with the idea to reuse shower curtains.
If you do not have any extra curtains kicking around, you can normally find them pretty cheap at places like thrift stores or even on Amazon here. Just be sure to not get a clear one as that will not help keep the sun out.
The other thing you will need other than a curtain is some zip ties or string. We used zip ties as the are super easy and we had some on hand already. But string will also work.
Then all you need to do is use the ties or string to attach the curtain to your canopy. We did ours so that it was attached tight across the top and down one side. But we left the other side unattached so that you could walk through if needed.
If you will have no need to walk through, you can attach the other side as well to make sure that it stays in place.
Supplies Needed:
- One – Two Shower Curtains (depends on how many sides you want to put it on and how large your canopy is)
- String or Zip Ties
- Canopy (we got ours from a thrift store)
That is it! Super simple right? Do you have any handy tips you use to beat the summer heat? We would love to hear them, feel free to leave them in the comments below.
