If you are looking for a mouthwatering oven baked ribs recipe, this is a must try! They can also be made over a campfire. That is because they are made in foil packs.
Easy Oven Baked Ribs (With Campfire Option)
I so love to enjoy a rack of ribs from time to time. They do not offer a lot of meat, but the flavor is always amazing. This is such an easy way to make oven baked ribs.
While the recipe directions are for making oven baked ribs, I have also included a few notes for cooking over a campfire. Most of the steps are the same because they are cooked in a foil pack most of the time. It just will be slightly different when it comes to the last step of browning/glazing.
These ribs are seasoned 24 hours ahead of cooking with a dry rub. The rub used for this recipe was the Weber Honey Garlic Rub, but feel free to use your rub of choice.
Also, the last step when it comes to the browning/glazing, it is optional. They have a pretty great taste with just the rub. However, a good BBQ sauce or pineapple habanero sauce just gives that extra added layer of flavor.

Easy Oven Baked Ribs (With Campfire Option)
Ingredients
- 1 Rack Ribs
- 1/4 Cup Dry Rub Seasoning used Webers Honey Garlic
- 3/4 Cup BBQ Sauce optional
Instructions
-
Season ribs with dry rub 24 hrs before cooking and place covered in the fridge.
-
After the resting period, place the rack of ribs meat side down inside aluminum foil. Close and seal around the ribs.
-
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Place the aluminum foil packet of ribs in the oven and cook 1 1/2 - 2 hours or until ribs are tender to the touch and have started pulling back from the bone. **If cooking over a campfire, place off to the side of the fire and not right over the hottest heat of the fire.
-
Take the ribs out of the foil (be careful, it will be hot) and place ribs with the meat side up in the oven on a baking pan. Turn the oven up to 375 degrees. **If cooking over a campfire, you can move the ribs to the grill area at this point to finish the rest of the steps.
-
Once the temp is reached, place pan with ribs towards the top of the oven. Cook for 15 minutes. If you're using bbq sauce (we used a pineapple habanero sauce) start basting with a brush every 10 to 15 minutes till ribs reach an internal temperature of 195 degrees.
-
Option*** (If your sauce has high sugar content): towards the end of the cook time, set your broil on low and ribs close enough to the top to make the sauce "bubble", once that has happened, pull from oven and let them sit for 5-10 min slightly tented with foil. This will give time for sugars to carmelize giving a tacky feel.
