Unfortunately, some companies take advantage of the fact that some women won’t leave the house without makeup. For some reason most ingredients placed on the back of makeup isn’t even readable by the average person. One way to know what is in your products is to do a little research of your own. Yes, there are tons of big time companies that create makeup and make billions, but look beyond that. There are hundreds of small time companies that also create chemical free makeup. Sometimes you just don’t know what to avoid when it comes to buying makeup. Your mind has been trained to buy whatever is on the shelf and trust that the FDA knows what they are talking about. Some makeups have heavy metals, PCBs (which are highly toxic chemicals), parabens, Toluene, and much more. When you think about it, it’s kind of scary what’s in makeup and other cosmetic products, so always take the time to know exactly what to avoid.

Know that Chemical Free Doesn’t Always Mean Chemical Free:

Unfortunately, some brands will even go as far to say they’re chemical free when they are not. This “chemical free” phrase is meant to be appealing to buyers and it is. And keep in mind that chemical free does not always mean natural either. Just be aware of what exactly is being put on your face and in your body.

Sometimes it’s Best to Go Without:

In doing my research with cosmetics and makeup, sometimes it may be best to go without. Until you can find a brand that you love that does not use chemicals, this may be the best path to go.
