Benefits Of Protein Smoothies:
Protein is the basic building block of our body and our body needs protein for every single activity. So, we must eat protein in our daily diet to maintain our health.
Protein also helps to increase your energy levels. If you have a busy schedule and you don’t get time to eat a proper meal, then you can make smoothies.
It is important to make sure you have sufficient proteins in your diet.
Protein helps to make muscles stronger. You may think that protein smoothies are only for those who are fitness freaks, but they are not. Protein smoothies will make you feel good and you will get strong muscles in no time.
Increase the muscle mass. As I mentioned above, if you are not eating enough protein in your diet, then your body will not get enough protein to build muscles.
While they are good to have any time, they are great for when you are going to work out as well. That is because protein helps with muscle recovery meaning less muscle soreness.
If you don’t eat protein, then you won’t get a strong and muscular body.
So the next time you need a protein boost, consider whipping up a protein smoothie!
How much protein is in this smoothie?
If you make this recipe following our directions and using coconut milk, it will have 21 grams of protein per serving.
However, it will vary depending on the type of milk you use. If you use almond milk, soy milk or normal dairy milk, the protein count will be slightly higher.
What are some ways to make this with an even higher protein smoothie?
As we noted above, if you use dairy milk or almond milk the protein count will be a little higher.
Another easy way to make this into a super high-protein smoothie would be to add a scoop of protein powder or a scoop of vanilla protein powder. With that, you only have to use a small amount to have a high protein source.
What are some other protein options?
In this smoothie, we used greek yogurt as our protein source. However, I know some can not have dairy so I thought we would cover some other protein options you can use when making smoothies.
Protein powders are a great and super simple choice to use.
You can also get protein from nuts and or nut butters such as sunflower seed butter, peanut butter, or almond butter.
Can you have too much protein?
The short answer is yes. How much protein you have in a day will depend on how your body handles it. While some can tolerate a high protein diet, others may not.
If you are someone that has liver or kidney issues, then you may not do well on a high protein diet. You may need to restrict your protein intake. But you can still enjoy a good fruit and veggie smoothie, simply reduce the protein.
Because everyone is different, that is why we always recommend talking to your doctor before trying any new diets.
Store-Bought Smoothies vs Homemade Smoothies:
Many stores these days such as the grocery store sell pre-made smoothies. However, you may find that those have lots of added artificial sweeteners and other additives you may not want to be drinking.
The best thing is when you make them at home it is a great way to have healthier options for your smoothie such as using natural sweetener.
Simple Ingredients Needed For Smoothie Recipe:
- 7 oz All Natural Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 Cup Coconut Milk or unsweetened almond milk
- 2 Tbsp Virgin Coconut Oil
- 1/3 Cup Frozen Strawberries
- 1/2 Cup Frozen Pineapple Chunks
- 2-3 Ice Cubes
Most of these delicious ingredients you may already have on hand.

Place all ingredients in a blender, mix well. Make sure you blend until your ice is really crushed up and it is a nice creamy texture. That’s it!
Now just pour into a glass or to-go cup and enjoy! This makes a perfect breakfast!
