10 Foods that Help with Constipation
Constipation is the worst! You are unable to go and can’t figure out why. There’s a time in everyone’s life when constipation hits and they need to find relief. Sure you can buy over the counter products that help force your bowel movements, but why put that strain on your body when you can simply start eating foods that help with constipation?
I am sharing 10 foods that help with constipation so that you can rest easier knowing your body has been relieved.
Strawberries, Raspberries & Blackberries:

Unsalted, Air Popped Popcorn:
If you can handle eating air popped popcorn without added salt and butter then give it a try as this is a good source of fiber.
Navy Beans & Kidney Beans:
These two beans have a high level of fiber and can help with constipation. Consider adding them to your favorite meal at dinner time.
Prunes:
There is about 1 gram of fiber per prune which is a high level. If you can tolerate them add prunes to your diet to ease constipation.
Kiwi:
Some fruits have natural sugars that can cause gas, but kiwi is a great fruit of choice for increase fiber and vitamin C too.
Water:
Make sure you are drinking the proper amount of water daily to keep your bowels from cramping up. Drink 8-10 8oz glasses every day.
Flaxseeds:
A great way to increase fiber simply by sneaking it into everyday recipes. 1 tablespoon has about 2 grams of fiber.
Whole Grain Bread:
Make the switch to whole grain bread. This has a higher fiber content and lower fat content which helps relieve constipation.
Raw Broccoli:
Since cooking broccoli reduces the fiber levels, try to eat raw broccoli to help with constipation. Don’t add any dips, eat it as is.
Brazil Nuts, Peanuts & Walnuts:
Surround your home with these nuts as a means to keep that fiber increased. Great for snacking they have a significant fiber value.

Often time’s constipation is just a sign that you need to increase fiber in your diet. While there are other symptoms that can go along with constipation such as bleeding or extreme pain that cause the need to go see a doctor, overall the average person suffering from constipation without the extreme symptoms are able to offset it by eating foods that help with constipation.
