Essential Oil Cleaner – All Purpose Cleaner With
Rosemary, Citrus & Cedarwood Essential Oils
Using more natural cleaning products such as an essential oil cleaner has become a sought-after thing the past few years, and for good reason.
Most of the products you can buy off the shelf from your local store are made with toxic ingredients. Using those can cause so many health issues for you and your family. Half of them smell super strong too!
This essential oil cleaner is simple to make. When you run out, you can easily refill your bottle and have more, without having to run to the store or order online.
The base ingredients for it are just water and vinegar. There’s not a lot of vinegar, so you don’t get that sour scent either.
Oils Used:
It includes 3 essential oils to really make it work well both for killing the junk on your counters and surfaces, but also to refresh the surfaces too.
The oils in this essential oil cleaner are Rosemary, which not only is such a great scent in your home, it is a powerful oil that will kill any germs, fungus or bacteria. A bonus side benefit to rosemary – It helps increase your memory.
Then there is lemon oil included, which is wonderful for cleaning anything. Lemon can be used as a furniture polish all by itself, or to remove sticker residue or build up on items.
It is very powerful in the pure form, so don’t use it on plastics, to be safe, as it could break them down and leave a mark in the finish.
The scent of lemon is of course, amazing and clean, but it also breaks down toxins and works wonderfully in your home.
Lastly, there is cedarwood oil. With its lovely woodsy scent, it changes up the typical cleaner-type aroma, and it is known for the properties it has for purification, vitality and freshness. It is good for the mind, the skin and surfaces as well.
Supplies you will need to make this essential oil cleaner:
- 1 16 oz or Larger Glass or Stainless Steel Spray Bottle (Using a glass vinegar bottle is a cheap and easy way to get one, just upcycle a spray top from another cleaner bottle. If you don’t have you can buy at places like Amazon)
- 2 oz. White Distilled Vinegar
- 10 Drops Rosemary Essential Oil
- 6 Drops Lemon Essential Oil
- 8 Drops Cedarwood Essential Oil
- About 14 oz Water To Fill
Directions:
Measure and place your vinegar into either a mixing bowl or directly into the spray bottle first. (I just put my ingredients right in the bottle and shake to mix when needed, it saves a dirty dish and works fine!)
Then carefully add in your essential oils. Rosemary and lemon are both a thinner oil and can run right out of that bottle fast, so go slowly as you count, being careful not to overdo it.
Once your oils are all in, shake the bottle to mix it all up well and then, using a funnel if needed, add your water to fill up the rest of the bottle.
Place on your spray top and make yourself a label if desired.
To use: Spray on counters and surfaces and wipe with a damp cloth to clean. This can be used in kitchens and bathrooms as well as any other surfaces in your home.
