Homemade Banana Bread Baked In A Mason Jar
Did you know that you can bake banana bread right in a mason jar? You can! It makes for a cool way to give someone their own loaf.
If you already have wide mouth jars, you can use those. If you need to buy some, they can be found in many stores or even online at places like Amazon.
While the below homemade banana bread baked in a mason jar recipe, is baked in jars, you can use your everyday loaf pan too.
Note: You must use wide mouth jars as the bread needs to be able to rise out of the jar and your bread will not be able to slide out if you don’t
How To Make This Recipe:
Start by preheating the oven to 325 and make sure you have the rack in the center of the oven.
Next, lightly grease the jars. Crisco works well for this. You can either use your fingers to coat the inside of the jars our a paper towel to spread the grease around.
Then you need to lightly flour the jars after they are greased. You can do this by adding a tsp of flour to the jar and then place your hand over the top and shake it to get the flour all around.
Mix sugar and butter together. Next, add the eggs and mix well. Then add in mashed bananas and water, mix well for about 30 seconds. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Now you want to pour your batter into the jars until they are about 1/2 full. You want to make sure they are no more than half full as it will rise.
Put jars directly on the oven rack (in the middle of the oven) and bake for an hour and 10 minutes. You may need a little more time or a little less depending on your oven.
It will be down when golden and you can put a toothpick in and it comes out clean when inserted in the bread.
To remove it from the jars, cool them upside down on a cooling rack. If the bread still does not slide right out, use a butter knife and run it around the edge of the bread to loosen.
