Natural Upset Stomach & Indigestion Treatment
My Two Go To Items
Do you have a go to indigestion treatment that you use? For years I used a lot of different over the counter medicines to treat it, but that was before I turned to a more natural health treatment.
Now, when I get an upset stomach or indigestion, I have a few go to natural treatments I use.
Peppermint Oil:
Peppermint oil is one of my must have at all times oil. It just works so amazingly well for so many different things. One of those things is a natural indigestion treatment.
When ever I have a bought of indigestion or feel bloated from gas, I just put a few drops of peppermint oil (I use this one here) on my tongue. Within minutes I start to feel better. Pretty shocking as to how fast it works.
You do have to be sure have a food grade oil and not just an aromatherapy grade oil.
Ginger:
Ginger has always been really great for stomach issues. Many even take it when they are pregnant to help with morning sickness.
While you get the best benefit from fresh ginger, it may not always be easy to eat when you are not feeling well. But there are other options that also work. You can either take it in packed capsules or ginger essential oil.
One of the best ways I have found to take it when you really are not feeling well is to eat a few pieces of crystallized ginger. I think it may partly be because of it having a little sugar on it and I think that also helps to settle the stomach.
You can either make your own crystallized ginger or you can buy at places like Amazon. When I buy the pre-made, I try and stick to the organic and get the kind that does not have any other additives.
Take Both:
You may be wondering if you can take them both. Yes, you can! Sometimes when I get hit with really bad upset stomach and indigestion I will take them both together. I think the mixture just helps speed up the feeling better.
Just remember that you do not need to take large amounts of either. A small amount will go a really long ways.
