Night Camping Tips & Ideas Including Games
Camping can be such a fun thing to do, but what about when night comes? What do you do then, just go to bed? No way! Night camping is when it can get super fun! I am going to share a few night camping tips, ideas and things you can do like games to play.
Lighting Tips & Hacks:
When you are camping you can burn through batteries pretty fast if you use nothing but flashlights to find your way around camp. One great tip is to use solar-powered lights. You can grab cheap garden ones from the dollar store to place around camp and on the walking paths. You can also use wine glass stands to hold them or flip a clay pot over on a table and place the light in the center to hold it up on a table.
There are also solar lights you can hang inside the tent! It is amazing how the prices have come down on solar lights to make them so affordable.
Have you ever tripped over the tent tie downs at night? There are a few ways you can keep from doing that. One way is to tape glow sticks to them. Another idea and one that lasts longer is to coat them in glow in the dark paint.
Games & Things To Do:
Laser tag is such a fun game to play at night! There are a few different ways you can play. You can use flashlights to tag each other or there are also affordable laser tag sets you can get. Great way to have fun night camping!
Glow in the dark bowling! Set up some empty water or soda bottles with some small glow sticks inside. Then use a ball like a basketball, kickball or whatever you have around as the bowling ball.
Glow stick ring toss. Use the bottles just like for glow in the dark bowling but instead of rolling them over with a ball, use larger glow rings like for a necklace to toss around the bottles.
Campfire stories are such a classic for night camping. Gather around a nice campfire and take turns telling funny or scary stories to each other.
Shadow puppet show. Grab a flashlight and put on a shadow puppet show. This is one that I am sure the kids will love!
Guess the shadow game. Don’t want to just put on a shadow puppet show? Why not play try to guess the shadow? It is kinda like the game Pictionary but you use shadows and not drawings.
Outdoor movie! If you happen to have a site with power an outdoor movie night is a fun night camping thing to do! You can grab little portable mini projectors and project it onto a sheet.
